Congratulations to "Kim", the winner in Amy's giveaway. Please contact JUST CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE to claim your prize!

Have you ever been attracted to the wrong guy? The one who is your complete opposite and would never work out? The one who somehow still has the power to make your heart race and your breath come short?
            I have.
            And I married him.
Maybe that’s why I wanted to write about opposites. About discovering there might be more to someone than you expect.
(Plus, it’s fun and it’s hot!)
Mai and Anthony are opposites and right now, they’d do anything to get over each other. Including bad dates to crush their crush. Here’s a short excerpt as they start Date 1. Hope you love it and hope you’ll love their story as much as I do.

I look him over again. “You’re wearing that shirt.”
He looks down at the purple tee. It says Mechanical Engineer beneath a row of metal gears. It’s the shirt he was wearing the first night we kissed. It was a few days after the first party at Jason’s house. We were sitting in his car, a half-moon shining through the windshield, the sound of my heart drowning out everything else. My first kiss. Ever. The nerves I expected. The awkwardness, definitely. Me fisting that purple tee and pulling him closer, not so much.
“Don’t wear that shirt again,” I order.
He stiffens, his eyes flashing. “Come again?”
“I like that shirt. Don’t wear it again.”
He pauses a heartbeat and then a shit-eating grin works across his face. His dimple winks at me. “You do, huh?” He drapes one forearm over the wheel. “Just so I know, is it the color you like? The way…it fits?”
My skin temperature shoots up another few degrees. “You are not being helpful. We’re trying to get over this.”
“And the purple shirt is not helpful?”
“No, it isn’t.”
He nods agreeably. “Fine. If we’re making requests, I find it very sexy when you button your shirts up to your neck. It would help if you undid a few.”

Mai Senn knows Anthony Adams is no good for her - no matter how hard she might crush on him. She’s valedictorian; he’s a surf bum. She’s got plans, he’s got his art. Complete opposites in every way. Vinegar and baking soda, they once joked. A chemical reaction that bubbled.

Yeah, they bubbled. Maybe still do.

Good thing Anthony’s got the perfect plan: two weeks to prove just how not good they are together. Whoever can come up with the worst date—something the other will seriously hate, proving how incompatible they truly are—wins.

Like taking a snake-phobe to the Reptile House at the zoo (his idea).

Or a cooking class where they don’t even get to eat the food (her idea).

It’s all about the competition, and it’s meant to help them finally crush their crushes. But it wasn’t supposed to be so hot. Or so fun. And when Mai’s future becomes at stake, will she be able to do the right thing and quit Anthony forever?

  1. I love the cover for How to Quit Your Crush. I definitely want to read it. Somehow I missed Announcing Trouble when it first came out.
