Kerri’s Top 5 Favorite Princesses
(Some real, some animated, some from
fiction)
1. Belle from
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
This version of Belle rocks my socks. Why? Because she
loves books and totally loses herself in the stories. Plus, she clearly doesn’t
care about looks – um, hello, Beast! Also, she’s not afraid to rock a yellow
dress. And out of all the Disney princesses, I look the most like her.
2. Grace Kelly,
Princess of Monaco
Grace
Kelly is fabulous and I probably could just stop there. But I won’t. I also
love her because she was friends with Alfred Hitchcock and in a couple of his
movies and I adore Hitchcock films. Also, Grace is from Pennsylvania, just like
me.
3. Cinderella
from most versions of the story
I think we can all agree, she has fabulous shoes.
She’s nice and hard-working too. Plus, she’s kind to animals and has a fairy
godmother. Also important to note is one of the best cinematic references to
her name courtesy of Pretty Woman, “Cinde-f*cking-rella.”
4. Rapunzel
from Disney’s Tangled
You gotta
give it up for Rapunzel. She has amazing hair. It’s like one big Pantene
commercial. We should all covet it. Also, she’s a loner like me. Of course, her
loner-status is forced on her. But I think she makes the best of it. Also, she
is voiced by Mandy Moore, who I love.
5. Princess Mia
from The Princess Diaries movies
I love me
some Princess Mia because she’s an ugly duckling and I think we’ve all felt
that way at some point. Plus, she’s loyal. And the real kicker – The Princess Diaries movies are based on
the YA book series and YA falls under the romance novel umbrella. Who doesn’t
look a good romance novel?
Oh, you love romance novels? Then make
sure you pick up my new contemporary romance novel, Tempting Mr. Wrong,
available now from Entangled Publishing.

They walked back into the
kitchen. Carly faced him. “What time is Mya coming home? Do I need to pick her
up?”
“Caitlin’s mom
said she would drop her off.” He looked down at his watch. “In about two hours
from now.”
Carly put her
hands in the pockets of her jeans and rolled back on her heels. “Wow, two whole
hours, Mya-free. Just me and you.”
She said it
lightly, but as soon as the words were out of her mouth, the implication that
they were alone filled the room. No Mya, no interruptions.
They stood on
opposite sides of the table. He could see her chest rising and falling as the
silence between them dragged on. His palms were damp and he wiped them on his
jeans.
God, she was so
damn beautiful. Taking in her gorgeous body, the usual reminder that he
shouldn’t look at his best friend’s sister like this didn’t surface. In fact,
he’d stopped thinking about her as Chris’s sister days ago.
Those green eyes
that sparkled as if they were laughing at all times. Her luxurious red hair.
All of those womanly curves packed into her petite body. What man would be able
to resist her?
Not me. Not anymore.

I like all of the princesses you mentioned, but if I had to choose I'd go with Lucia from "She's No Princess"
ReplyDeleteby Laura Lee Guhrke. Lucia is the illegitimate daughter of a prince and her father decides it's time for her to marry. Wonderful historical romance between a feisty Italian and a stuffy Englishman.
