Things to do before I Die

With: Nina Croft

My latest release, HIS FANTASY GIRL, is book 1 in my new series, Things to do Before you Die. It’s based around three men who meet up on a sinking ship. They face death together, and afterwards get talking and decide that there are definitely things they want to do before they die.

While they don’t go as far as to make a bucket list, they do acknowledge that everyone, including them, has at least one big regret in their lives. And they each make a vow to go back and do something about that regret.

For Logan, the hero of His Fantasy Girl, that vow is to hunt down the girl he spent one fabulous night with eleven years ago, just before his life went to pieces and his world crashed around him. Afterward, he spent a year in prison fantasizing about her, building her up into his ideal girl.

When he got out, he never tried to find her. He decided it was a lose-lose situation. Either she’d be nothing like the girl of his dreams and a huge disappointment or she’d be perfect and he’d have to do...what? Settle down? Except Logan isn’t the settling down type. So instead, he’s spent the last ten years using her memory to keep real women at bay. Because no one can match up to his fantasy girl.

Now he’s looked death in the eye, and he plans to go find her, see how reality matches up to his dreams. And he’s scared.

The series came about because, just under two years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily, I caught it early and I’m—fingers crossed—in the clear. But such happenings have the effect of making you think about death and reassess your life. I actually love mine, there’s very little I’d change, but that doesn’t mean to say there aren’t a whole load of things I’d like to do before I die.

So here’s my bucket list...
Horse ride up the Inca trails in Peru.
Take a canoe trip down the Amazon.
Learn to dive in the Great Barrier Reef.
Run a rescue center for dogs and anything else that comes along.
Learn natural horsemanship
Go to a writing conference (and I’m registered for RT in Vegas next year. Yay!)
Make the New York Time’s bestseller list...regularly.
Write a huge fantasy trilogy (or quadrilogy or...) along the lines of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones.
Get a parrot.

Some of them I’m going to have to persuade my other half to join in...but I like a challenge.
I think it’s a little sad that we need something so life changing as facing death to make us really think about the things we would like to do—so I plan to review my list regularly.

What would be the top of your bucket list?

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

When fantasy and reality collide...

There's nothing like a near death experience to make a guy reassess his life. And that's exactly what nightclub owner Logan McCabe decides to do, starting with looking up the girl he spent one wild night with eleven years ago, right before his life turned to crap. He spent a year fantasizing about her. Now he's ready to see how reality matches up.

Abigail Parker is a perfectionist. She's only strayed from the straight and narrow once in her life, on her eighteenth birthday. It was supposed to be one wild night with a totally unsuitable man before she settled into her sensible future. Instead it changed her life forever.

Logan might still be the sexiest man Abigail has ever seen, but a dirty-talking, tattooed, ex-con is the last thing she needs in her perfect life. He claims she's his fantasy girl, but what he doesn't know is she's also the mother of his ten-year old daughter...

Author Bio:
Nina Croft grew up in the north of England. After training as an accountant, she spent four years working as a volunteer in Zambia, which left her with a love of the sun and a dislike of nine-to-five work. She then spent a number of years mixing travel (whenever possible) with work (whenever necessary) but has now settled down to a life of writing and picking almonds on a remote farm in the mountains of southern Spain.
Nina writes all types of romance, often mixed with elements of the paranormal and science fiction.
