WHO DOESN’T LOVE A BODYGUARD??

With: Amy Andrews

After 50 + books I’ve written my first bodyguard book. I don’t know why – it’s one of my fav romance tropes and always has been! Talk about the ultimate off-limits set up! But there’s just never been a plot in my head involving a bodyguard so it’s never happened. And then along came Entangled’s The Men Of The Zodiac series and Scorpio in particular.

How could Scorpio not be a badass, ex-royal marine, undercover-watching-over-her, stop-at-nothing-to-keep-her-safe bodyguard??

I had a lot of inspiration from film and television to keep me going so here are my top 5 TV/movies with a bodyguard trope.

#5 The Bodyguard (of course)

#4 Stakeout.
Not strictly speaking a Bodyguard movie. More of a cops sent to watch over someone in case her criminal ex makes contact but those lines soon get blurred and Richard Dreyfuss gets in over his head with Madeline Stowe. I guess back in the 80’s I was supposed to think that Emilio Estevez (the other cop) was the cute one but Richard Dreyfuss is so damn sexy in this movie it still makes my heart skip a beat!

#3 Die Hard 4.
Again, not strictly speaking a bodyguard movie and not a romance either but Bruce Willis does have to keep the IT geek who’s about to save the world, safe and that’ll do me. I loved this movie! One of the best lines ever in this movie. I watch it just for that alone!

#2 Terminator.
The first one. The best one! Michael Biehn sent back in time to save Sarah Connor from being killed by a rabid machine.

#1. My favourite for last. CJ and Simon from West Wing.
Ooh la la, these two had chemistry. And, you know, Mark Harmon….

What about you? Are you a fan of the bodyguard trope? Do you have any favs from TV or the movies?

THE COLONEL'S DAUGHTER

Ivy Danforth is out from under her Colonel father's overprotective control, and she's making it count. Big time. She's taken the summer off to travel through Australia with her bestie and experiencing all that life has to offer—when you’re not under constant military surveillance. She wants to end her summer with some sexy fun, and she has just the hottie in mind.

Seth Rodrigo is ex-Special Forces working undercover and keeping an eye on Ivy as a special favor to her father. All he has to do is not give the game away and reveal who he really is. And especially not give into the hunger that's burning through his careful control...

Then they're forced into protective custody. Alone. Together. For four days.
And this time, the Colonel's daughter isn't taking no for an answer...
