Limo or pickup?

Congratulations to "Karen J.", the winner in Jennifer's giveaway. Thank you to all who participated.

Today THE RETURN OF THE REBEL releases!!! You can find it on store shelves and online. :-)

I thought you might have fun meeting the people behind the title. So I’ve invited Cleo and Jax to join us for a fun little interview. Let’s see what they have to say for themselves.

Limo or pickup?

Cleo – “Oh, that’s easy, pickup. You might be able to take the girl out of the ranch but you can’t take the ranch out of the girl.” *smiles proudly*

Jax – “A limo. In New York City, nothing says success like a limo and a smart suit. And who doesn’t want to be successful and show the people who said you’d amount to nothing that you’ve surpassed even your own dreams.”

Country or rock?

Cleo – “Country. I just love it and the yummy cowboys that sing the songs, especially Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan.”

Jax – “Give me Rock ‘n Roll. Something to get the heart pounding. But I guess if “some people” want to hear country, it wouldn’t be so bad.”

TV or movies?

Cleo – “Movies. I just love romantic comedies. Who doesn’t love THE PROPOSAL?” *wispy sigh* “So romantic.” *gives Jax a quick glance and blushes*

Jax - *clears throat* “Umm…neither. What little spare time I have away from the office, I spend reading the financial papers. A hedge fund manager has to stay on top of everything.”

Sunrise or Sunset?

Cleo – “Definitely a sunset. The work day is done. It’s time to kick back and let your hair down. And it’s so romantic.” *turns to Jax and smiles*

Jax - *pulls at his finely pressed collar* “Sunrise. It’s the beginning of a new day. It’s like a do-over to see how much can be accomplished that day.”

Run or Walk?

Cleo – “I like to run in the morning. It gets the heart pumping and makes me feel like I can conquer the world. And then there’s the benefit of still fitting in my work clothes after splurging on a bowl of ice cream.”

Jax - *smiles and shakes his head* “You definitely don’t have to worry about that. For me, it depends if there’s a lot of money on the line. If there is, I’m running to my desk. If there’s nothing pressing, I’m taking the elevator in my Manhattan office and walking to my desk.”

Fast food or sit-down?

Cleo – “I like a sit-down meal with candles, good food and entertaining conversation with a really sexy guy.”

Jax – “Me too.” *Cleo turns to him with a look of surprise* “Well, I mean, uh, except for I prefer female company.” *everyone laughs* “I wouldn’t mind some good conversation either and I am a little hungry. How about we head on out of here and get a bite to eat.”

*Jax gets to his feet and offers Cleo his arm* “I’m afraid I don’t have a pickup, but we could have the limo stop at the auto lot and we can pick out one in your favorite color.”

Well folks, it seems like we’ve lost our two interviewees. *Cleo and Jax are smiling at each other as they slip out the door to a waiting limo* Seems as though opposites really do attract. ;-) In the meantime, here’s a little about their story. And then it’s your turn to answer a question and be entered for a chance to win Jax and Cleo’s story, THE RETURN OF THE REBEL.

EXCERPT:

Her eyes twinkled. “Are you flirting with me?”

“If you have to ask, I must not be doing it right.”

She laughed some more. “I’m glad not everything about you has changed. You were always a great guy in my book.”

Her gaze lifted up to meet his. The tender look in her eyes touched something deep inside him—a part of him that he thought was long dead. In that moment, he felt more alive than he had in months.

Without thinking he reached out and caressed her cheek. “Thank you.”

She leaned into his touch, short-circuiting the logical side of his brain. The only coherent thought in his head was to pull her close and kiss her. And this time he wouldn’t be kissing her rosy cheek. This time he planned to find out if those cherry-red lips were as sweet and passionate as they were in his daydreams.

TRAILER:

The guy from the wrong side of the tracks…

Being promoted should be a dream come true, only it means working closely with Cleo's childhood crush, Jax Monroe. Jax may no longer be the rebel she remembers, but he still gets her heart racing like no other.

Jax cares too much about Cleo to let her get too close—but keeping his distance is proving impossible! As Jax reveals the extent of what he's been through, will Cleo show him that some things are too precious to put off until tomorrow?

  1. Congrats on the new book, Jennifer! I have to admit to being a vanilla ice cream girl. I like chocolate, but vanilla is always my first choice. LOL
