HOME TO STAY

Giveaway $10 Amazon Gift Card!

Willow Parsons’s two new best friends are getting married, putting her squarely on the sidelines of romance—which suits her just fine. After the nightmarish situation she escaped from, featuring the ultimate Mr. Wrong, she is more than happy to spend her days slinging drinks in Dempsey’s Bar & Grill, and her nights alone. But her Anchor Island refuge has just one catch: muscle-bound charmer Randy Navarro.

Everyone in town knows that Randy, owner of the local fitness club, is a giant teddy bear. Everyone, it seems, except for Willow. He’s convinced that her avoidance is more than just playing hard to get, and is determined to uncover the secrets that shadow her lovely eyes. But when old fears are dragged into the light, can Randy get Willow to stay and fight for their love…or will she take flight, leaving him and Anchor Island behind?

Home to Stay is a charming, romantic tale about following your heart to find where you belong.

Excerpt:

Willow Parsons had survived. She’d officially run Dempsey’s Bar & Grill, the signature restaurant of tiny Anchor Island, North Carolina, for an entire week on her own.

Hallelujah.

Named assistant manager the previous fall, shortly after proprietor Tom Dempsey’s heart attack, the owners, which included Tom and his wife, Patty, proved their faith in Will by letting her handle the reopening two weeks before returning from their winter break in the Florida Keys. Will had stressed for a solid month before the big day. Checking inventory, cleaning up the accounting system, and ensuring the staff was as sharp as ever.

And her attention to detail had paid off.

Dempsey’s was known for friendly service and the best seafood in the Outer Banks. It was important to reinforce that reputation with a strong opening week. On that front, she would not fail. She liked the Dempseys too much to disappoint them, or let their business take a hit.

The restaurant was already in recovery mode, which was why they’d closed for the winter in the first place. An infusion of cash from their son Lucas, a lawyer who’d recently returned to Anchor and set up his own practice, had kept them from closing the doors for good, but they’d need a strong tourist season to ensure Lucas’s investment wouldn’t be for naught.

To that end, Will would do all she could to help the family who had trusted her with their business.

  1. I don't really have any summer vacation plans other than to finally tackle cleaning up my house. I've been too busy and putting things off but I'd like to make a dent in getting rid of anything that's not needed or wanted anymore! But I wish it were a vacation year instead lol

    1. I am! Well, I'm cleaning up the last one in the series today and it'll be off to my publisher. Thank you so much for reading my books. And have fun on your trips. I'll be in Anaheim in October for a book signing. Have never been to Lake Tahoe but it's on my list.

    1. Abby, at least your consistent. LOL! Maybe try a staycation. Find something close by and take a day trip. I've lived in Va Beach for 10 years and have yet to see Cape Henry lighthouse, which is maybe 5 miles from my house. LOL!

  7. Love the Anchor Island books! My husband and I have been vacationing on the Outer Banks in early September almost every year for almost 30 years. Currently Avon is our town of choice but we love Duck and Corolla, too. We're not sure if we will get there this year because of uncertainty with my job. So, we may be doing a last minute booking.

    1. Laura, I've never done Corolla due to lack of four wheel drive. But I love the whole area. I usually end up in Nags Head.

  12. No summer vacation plans for me. There's just too much to do and not enough time. I do hope to tackle more books from my TBR pile and hopefully shrink it some but that, I've learned, is infinitely futile LOL

Congrats on your newest release, Terri!

  15. For the last 15 years, I've worked a ton of overtime during the summer. I've changed jobs (still with the same employer) so my weekends will be free for the first time in ages. I'm still adjusting to this so haven't planned anything concrete, but I'd love to do things like attend my hometown's annual music festival (which I've never done) or even just catch some great local bands at the Friday concerts in the park. kateivan {at} aol {dot} com
